As part of the development of Djibouti’s energy infrastructure, BBM is contributing to the construction of the DMP ATLS Fuel Storage Terminal, a strategic project developed by ATLS, with Chemie-Tech Singapore serving as the project’s engineering and design partner. Chemie-Tech Singapore is one of the leading developers of oil and gas facilities across Asia, the MENA region, and Africa.
For this major project, BBM has been appointed as the contractor responsible for the construction of the tank foundations, bringing its technical expertise, equipment, and dedicated teams to a critical stage of the terminal’s development.
A Technical Scope at the Heart of the Project
BBM’s scope of work covers all earthworks required for the construction of four tank foundations. These operations involve several essential technical stages to ensure proper ground preparation and long-term structural performance.
BBM’s teams are responsible for the installation of the G5 layer, the placement of geotextile and an HDPE membrane, as well as the installation of the sand bedding layer and the completion of asphalt works.
Each stage requires careful execution and close technical supervision to ensure that the foundations are prepared in accordance with the project’s technical requirements and provide a suitable base for the future storage infrastructure.
BBM’s In-House Teams and Equipment
To deliver this scope of work, BBM is mobilizing its own technical teams and equipment, allowing the company to maintain direct control over operations on site.
This approach enables BBM to ensure the availability of the resources required for the project, closely monitor execution, and maintain high standards of quality and efficiency throughout the different stages of the work.
